Restorative Dentistry at Parramatta Dental Clinic
As much as we try to keep our smiles healthy, sometimes accidents and cavities happen. When they do, you need an experienced dentist on your side to help restore your bite back to its optimal function and appearance. Our comprehensive restorative treatments are designed to prevent additional damage to teeth and maintain normal tooth use. During your exam, we’ll see which ones are most appropriate and discuss the choices with you.
Types of Dental Restorations
Crowns and Bridges — A crown (“cap”) goes over a broken tooth, while bridges span across the gap caused by a missing one. They can also be placed on top of dental implants. We craft our crowns and bridges from various shades of matching porcelain.
Dentures — Custom dentures allow you to quickly replace all of your missing teeth at one time. Full dentures cover your entire arch, while partials snap in around the teeth you still have.
Dental Implants — Designed to be a permanent tooth replacement, dental implants mimic the shape and function of natural teeth. They are strong enough to work in pairs for multi-tooth restorations (such as bridges or dentures). You care for them like a real tooth.
White Fillings — Small cavities ought to be treated quickly, before the decay spreads elsewhere. Composite restorations bond closely with your tooth enamel and come in a variety of colours. When we match the filling to your tooth, it’s less noticeable than traditional metal restorations.
Keeping You Comfortable
Having dental work done is a routine process but that doesn’t mean we don’t take it seriously. We want each of our patients to feel comfortable and relaxed. Sedation dentistry is available as needed, to help ease your anxiety and reduce potential discomfort. Electing to have sedation makes it easier to complete your treatment in fewer appointments.
Understanding Your Options
Extensive cases such as full mouth reconstruction or smile makeovers require detailed planning. While there are a variety of options available, we’ll suggest the top few that are most appropriate for your situation. We treat you like a close friend or member of our own family, recommending the treatments we know are best for specific oral health concerns. You’ll have the information you need to feel confident about your treatment choices.
