Frequently Asked Questions

We want to be your resource in helping you maintain your oral health. If you’re looking for a general dental consultation and cleaning, below are some frequently asked questions to help you.

How often should you have a dental checkup?

Some people dread having to book an appointment with their dentist. The sad thing is, the reason is usually the same — they waited too long and a minor issue turned into a major one! You should visit our clinic twice a year for a checkup though we may recommend more visits if you have gum disease or if you’re prone to dental decay. Once the examination is complete, our dentist will create and explain a treatment plan in detail, together with the associated costs. One or several more visits may be necessary depending on the treatment required.

Why are routine dental checkups so important?

Routine visits include checking the mouth for signs of tooth decay, gum disease and even cancer.

Your appointment may also include joint evaluation and is usually accompanied by the taking of x-rays for a more detailed analysis of problems that are not visible to the naked eye. Identifying and addressing little issues today could save you a fortune in the long run!

What does “no gaps” mean?

For patients with an existing health fund, no gaps mean that there will be no out-of-pocket expenses.

If you don’t participate in a health fund, call our practice today and let us discuss how we can help make your dental care affordable for you, including an estimate for your initial appointment.
