Dentures at Parramatta Dental Clinic

When it comes to replacing missing teeth, dentures are an efficient and affordable solution. Our custom dentures are designed to fit comfortably, look great and fit your lifestyle. As a budget-friendly treatment, they’re typically preferred when fast results are a priority.

Types of Dentures

Full Dentures (‘Plates’)— A full denture rests directly on top of your gums, creating a seal between the prosthesis and your mouth. Dentures replace all of your upper or lower teeth at once.
Partials — In most cases you want to preserve your natural teeth, instead of extract them when you need a denture. For such situations, we create a partial denture to wrap around your current smile. Partials eliminate unnecessary tooth removal and use your existing teeth for a tighter fit.
Implant Supported— If you have trouble getting a secure fit because of bone loss, we can use dental implants to stabilise or secure your denture instead. Implant dentures come in two designs: removable and permanent.

Daily Denture Care

It’s vital to remove your denture or partial every night. Not only does your mouth need to rest, but prolonged wear can also contribute to infection. Soak your prosthesis in an effervescent cleanser overnight. The next morning, use a soft toothbrush or special denture brush to clean away debris and then rinse your appliance thoroughly. Before wearing it again, clean the inside of your mouth with a damp washcloth.

Customised to Your Profile

Dentures are unique, just like our patients! We want your new appliance to be one that accentuates your appearance, properly supports your facial tissues and is designed with the tooth colour and shape of your preference. During your design process we’ll talk about your goals and priorities, so that you can have a new smile that you’re proud of showing off.

Do You Still Need Checkups?

Every denture wearer should plan regular checkups with the dentist to keep their mouth healthy. During your exam we’ll screen for bone loss, oral cancer and atypical wear to your denture. If needed, we can make adjustments to improve the fit and comfort of your prosthesis.

Since dentures gradually wear out, occasional relines are needed. Seeing you on a regular basis can reduce your risk of unwanted side effects like sores and bone loss.
