Fastbraces® at Parramatta Dental Clinic

FastBraces are an alternative to traditional orthodontic treatments. These short-term braces take around 3-6 months to give you a straighter looking smile. They work by focusing on your front teeth, instead of the overall bite.

What Do They Look Like?

Most people won’t notice much of a visual difference between FastBraces and traditional orthodontics. Both use brackets and wires, except FastBraces utilises a different technique. Since appliances are restricted to the front of the mouth, those teeth move faster.

Even if you’re not thrilled with the idea of wearing fixed appliances, FastBraces work so quickly that it’s like you don’t spend much time in them at all.

We can also have your FastBraces made with tooth-coloured appliances, for a discreet overall appearance.

The Treatment Experience

If FastBraces is right for you, we’ll take a few photos, X-rays and an impression of your teeth. From there, brackets are bonded onto your teeth at strategic points and an arch wire is guided through them.

The wire nudges your teeth into alignment. We adjust it about once a month to guide the teeth more closely into the desired position.

Depending on your needs, treatment can be completed in as quickly as six weeks.

Caring for Your Smile

During any type of orthodontic treatment, you’ll need to avoid hard or sticky foods, as they can potentially dislodge your brackets. Should an appliance come off, let us know as soon as possible so that your treatment isn’t delayed.

Thoroughly clean around your fixed appliances at least twice a day. Take note to brush the margin of each bracket and use a floss threader or water flosser to clean between teeth. Since there are extra surfaces for plaque to stick to, you’ll need to spend more than the usual two minutes to brush.

Do You Qualify for FastBraces?

Accelerated orthodontics aren’t for everyone. If you have major tooth misalignment, it could be contributing to enamel wear or TMJ disorder. In such instances, traditional braces are usually necessary. Adjusting the front of your smile would only set you up for complications later on. FastBraces is best for people with minor crowding or gaps in front teeth. If you previously had braces but experienced relapse from not wearing a retainer, then short term treatment is a great fix.
